As Hurricane Florence bears down on the D.C. region, Mayor Muriel Bowser on Tuesday declared a state of emergency in the District, encouraging residents to “take this storm seriously.”

To that end, several of this weekend’s planned festivals and events have been canceled or postponed. Here’s the status of this weekend’s festivities.

  • H Street Festival: The annual block party has been postponed to October 13.
  • Fiesta DC: The festival and parade have been postponed from Sept. 15-16 to Sept. 29-30.
  • DC VegFest: The annual vegan food festival, set to celebrate its 10th year this weekend, has been canceled.
  • Prevent Cancer 5K: The race at Nationals Park is still planned for Sept. 16 at 9 a.m., and will announce final plans to cancel or continue the race by Sept. 15 at noon.
  • King Street Art Festival: The festival has been postponed one week from Sept. 15-16 to Sept. 22-23.
  • The Yards Park Boardwalk Block Party: The event has been postponed to October 7.
  • Yoga on the Riverfront With Fitbit Local: The class has been postponed with a new date to be announced.
  • Navy-Air Force Half Marathon: The race is planned to take place as scheduled, and will update racers via email and social media.
  • Capital BrewFest: The fall beer festival in Navy Yard has been postponed from Sept. 15 to Sept. 29.
  • Parks & People’s Service Saturday: The event at Meridian Hill Park has been rescheduled from Sept. 15 to Sept. 22 from 10 a.m.-1 p.m.
  • Back to School Bash: The school supply giveaway and festival in LeDroit Park has been postponed from Sept. 15 to Sept. 23 from 10 a.m.-1 p.m.
