The former first lady has lived in Kalorama since moving out of 1600 Penn, but sightings of her in the District have been rare.

While Michelle Obama has surprised D.C. students with a visit to Cardozo Education Campus, and had a heck of a time at a Beyoncé concert in Landover, those who don’t want to leave a run-in to chance can see her during her D.C. stop on the promotional tour for her memoir, Becoming. The book will be released on November 13.

“Over this time that I’ve been out of the White House, I’ve had time to think and reflect for the first time in a long time,” she said in a video. “I’ve spent some time really thinking about the people and the stories and the experiences that have shaped me and helped me become the person I am today, and I am proud of what I’ve created … It’s candid, it’s honest, it’s totally and utterly me.”

Obama will be speaking on November 17 at the Capital One Arena, a decidedly less indie location than The Anthem, where former Vice President Joe Biden gave a talk in February. Capital Arena is the home to the Wizards and Capitals, and is more likely to host international pop stars like Drake or Shakira than a book tour.

Then again, all of the 10 stops on the multi-city tour will take place at arenas and stadiums, rather than bookstores.

Becoming is part of a record-shattering book deal that Obama and her husband, former President Barack Obama made with Penguin Random House, for which a bidding war reportedly exceeded $65 million.

Tickets range in price from $29.50 to $2,000, and presale for the general public starts on September 21. Obama and Live Nation will donate 10 percent of every show’s ticket sales to local charities, schools, and community groups in each city, according to the Capital One Arena website.
