Set your food outing agenda for coming week with a festive Day of the Dead party, or learn how to make some of Toki Underground’s signature dishes over pours of French wine.

Free cake and cocktails

Local boutique Shop Made in DC turns one this week, and it’s kicking off the celebration with free cake and cocktails on Thursday in partnership with Kimpton Hotels. Goods will be provided by Killa Cakes and True Syrups & Garnishes. There will also be art giveaways with a $20 purchase for the first 100 guests, and a buy one get one free promotion. Tiger Fork’s night market returns

Blagden Alley’s Tiger Fork is hosting another Hong Kong-inspired night market this Thursday. Various food and drink stands will be set up around the restaurant with dishes for purchase. Chefs Cathal Armstrong (Kaliwa) and Masako Morishita (Momo Yakitori) will showcase bites including charred shishito pepper with tare and blue crab with red curry, crispy garlic and red curry. Tiger Fork plans to whip up some favorites from its late-night menu and Jos. A. Magnus & Co. Distillery will mix up specialty cocktails. A DJ goes on at 10 p.m. and there will also be candies, fruits, herbs, gifts, and other traditional Chinese market items for purchase. (922 N St. NW, Thursday, 7 p.m.-2 a.m., a la carte)

Ramen, dumplings, and wine tasting

Toki Underground, a destination for its tasty Asian noodles and dumplings, is getting into the world of wine education. This Sunday kicks off its Common Cru tasting series, which will feature a three two-ounce pours of lesser-known wines hosted by Toki’s general manager Olivier Caillabet and D.C.-based sommelier Danya Degan. Attendees will also learn how to make some of Toki’s featured dumplings or ramen (options will vary week to week). Glasses of the featured wines will be offered for $10. The first 45-minute session will focus on Famaey Rosé, Bonny Doon White, and Zimmer Zweigelt. (1234 H St. NE, Sunday, 4:30 p.m.-6:30 p.m., $55 per ticket)

Right Proper takes over Espita

Two of Shaw’s best bars will meet up on Monday evening as Right Proper Brewing Company sets up shop at Espita Mezcaleria to mix up “beertails” and pour a special Oaxacan-style gose created especially for the restaurant. The pop-up is part of Espita’s ongoing Test Bar Mondays, which allows the bar staff and to experiment with new and seasonal ingredients. (1250 9th St. NW, Monday, 4 p.m. to close, $7 beers and $11 cocktails)

A day of the dead party at Oyamel

Anyone who’s a fan of tequila, Mexican food, and Día de los Muertos should make plans to join Oyamel as it kicks off its annual celebration of the October holiday. The ticketed event includes live music, a photobooth, face painting, and tons of food and drink. This year’s party will honor Roberto Gómez Bolaños, aka “Chesparito,” one of history’s most important Spanish-language humorists. (401 7th St. NW, Monday, 6 p.m.-9 p.m., $49)

Three years of Momofuku

Hungry Washingtonians are invited to join Momofuku CCDC for a three-year fried chicken and dumpling party on Tuesday night. Executive chef Tae Strain will be cooking alongside an all-star roster of chefs, including Spike Gjerde of A Rake’s Progress, Tim Ma of Kyirisan, and Danny Lee and Scott Drewno from Chiko. Beer and drinks will be sold too, with a portion of sales going to DC Central Kitchen. (1090 I St. NW, Tuesday, 9:30 p.m.-1 a.m., $10 and under for dishes and cocktails, $5 DC Brau beers)
