WMAL anchor Larry O’Connor posted on Twitter that police immediately evacuated the building after studying the package.
I’m not going to describe the package in question because there is an ongoing investigation. We were informed moments after police studied it to immediately evacuate.
Could be a bad copy cat or could be something more.
We will return to the air as soon as we can. @WMALDC

This week, a number of high-profile Democrats received mysterious explosive packages in the mail. WMAL airs a number of conservative talk shows, but no one at the station is jumping to any conclusions about this package or its sender’s motivations.
The package in question had names of some of the @WMALDC hosts on the address label.
Coincidentally, GOP candidate for #VASen @CoreyStewartVA was at @WMALDC when the evacuation was ordered. But there is absolutely no connection.
