Get some wall art inspiration at The Fridge

The fourth annual Street Sticker Expo will cover Southeast arts venue The Fridge entirely in stickers—around 200,000 in total—a display that will put the DCist sticker you definitely have (right?) on your laptop or notebook to shame. Browse the adhesive art from artists around the world at an opening party featuring DJs, sticker trading, and art and books for sale.
The Fridge, Friday 7 p.m.-11 p.m.

Make merry at the Pop-Up Bar

Luckily for the folks at the Pop-Up Bar, no one has a trademark on the holidays (well, except maybe the Hallmark Channel). Help them decorate their annual Christmas bar Miracle on Seventh Street, which in past years has included candy-coated cocktails and larger than life displays. Drink Company’s elves will receive cookies, eggnog, and Christmas movie viewings for their labor.
1839 Seventh St. NW, Friday 6 p.m.-11 p.m., Saturday-Sunday 11 a.m.-10 p.m., also next weekend.

Stretch it out on the Mall

Remember Election Day? It was just this week, if you can believe it. After such a long week, you could numb your rage or fatigue in your nearest bottle of wine or carton of Ben & Jerry’s, but then there’s Catharsis on the Mall. The fest includes three straight days of meditation, yoga, dance (including boogeying around sunrise), and discussions about self-care and mental health. The annual event’s theme this year is “Waking from the American Dream,” which they say means rejecting war, exploitation of the Earth, and discrimination in favor of “abundance, communion, connection, transformation, and integration—setting the foundation for a new culture.”
National Mall, Friday noon-11 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m.-Sunday noon

Catch an original play about hip-hop history at the Kennedy Center

On Saturday, the Kennedy Center’s Millennium Stage plays host to Shaun Neblett, a New York-based playwright and theater director. He’ll present a chapter of his current project, 7 Homages for 7 Emcees, which dedicates a play to a seminal hip-hop album. Following his pieces on Nas’ Illmatic, The Notorious B.I.G.’s Life After Death, and Dead Prez’s Let’s Get Free, this weekend’s work focuses on The Great Adventures of Slick Rick, celebrating its 20th anniversary this year.
The Kennedy Center, Saturday 6 p.m.

Hear music up close at Kingman and Heritage Islands Park

Get up close and personal with (or distant and aloof from, if you so choose) the music at Concerto on the River. Classical musicians will perform on the bridge between Kingman Island and Heritage Island, and visitors will be able to walk around and among them. As you wander around, find your sweet spot on the bridge and create the perfect sonic balance. Who needs music producers?
Kingman and Heritage Islands Park, Sunday 1 p.m.-2 p.m.
