We’re still in the middle of a Yellow Line shutdown, and the Green Line (usually our trusty weekend savior) will cause some additional headaches this weekend.
Green Line trains will operate at regular service times between Branch Ave and Navy Yard stations and between Mt. Vernon Square and Greenbelt stations. Because of track bed lighting work, Waterfront, the upper level of L’Enfant Plaza, Archives, and the lower level of Gallery Place stations will all be closed. There will be free shuttle buses between all the affected stations.
Also, the last Navy Yard-bound Green Line train will leave Branch Ave 19 minutes earlier than usual. The last Mt Vernon Sq-bound Green Line train will leave Greenbelt 32 minutes earlier than usual.
The Yellow Line is set to start running again after December 9; crews are currently repairing tracks on the bridge connecting Pentagon City with L’Enfant Plaza stations. But the Red, Orange, and Silver lines will have regular weekend service.
The Blue Line will operate between Franconia-Springfield and Largo Town Center stations and between Huntington and Largo Town Center stations, to make up for the absence of the Yellow Line. From 5 a.m. until 8 p.m., Blue Line trains will run every 16 minutes. From 8 p.m. until close, trains will run every 20 minutes.
