A new mini-hotel of sorts, ideal for a short nap between flights, is scheduled to open in the coming days on a concourse at Dulles International Airport.

The Dulles location is Sleepbox Nap Lounge’s first in the U.S. It also appears to be the first of its kind in airports around the D.C. region, although similar concepts can be found in Atlanta and other major airports.

The 16 secure, sound-insulated boxes are on Concourse A, near Gate A6.

Dulles is home to many international flights that come in at odd hours or have long layovers, which could make the tiny rooms a good fit for some travelers.

Passengers can rent the rooms via an app or Sleepbox’s website for $25 an hour for a “compact” 30-square-foot room and $35 an hour for a 45-square-foot room. Prices cap at $120 or $150 for 12-hour overnights, according to a report by USA Today.

Each room has a twin bed with a memory mattress, a mirror and a desk, and can be rented remotely on an hourly or nightly basis using the company’s website or its smartphone app. The rooms are available 24 hours a day.

Sleepbox says it will offer “a quiet and comfortable place within the airport to sleep, relax, or work while waiting for a flight.”

The new nap station was set to open in June, but the opening was pushed back until the holiday season.

Recharj opened a downtown D.C. “meditation and nap studio” in 2016.
