We’re nearing the end of the Yellow Line shutdown.

We’re nearing the end of the Yellow Line shutdown— the Metro line opens back up on Monday, Dec. 10. But before that, we have to get through the weekend.

Blue Line stations between Franconia-Springfield and Largo Town Center and Huntington and Largo Town Center will run every 16 minutes. After 8 p.m. until close, trains will operate every 20 minutes.

The Red Line will be running regular weekend service until 10 p.m. After 10 p.m. and until close, trains will be single tracking between Farragut North and Judiciary Square stations.

The Orange, Silver, and Green lines will operate with regular weekend service.

Regular weekend intervals except after 10:00 p.m.

Red Line trains will operate:

Every 12-15 minutes between Shady Grove and Glenmont Saturday and Sunday
Every 6 minutes between Grosvenor and Silver Spring on Saturday during daytime hours
Every 8 minutes between Shady Grove and Silver Spring on Sunday during daytime hours
Saturday and Sunday, 10:00 p.m. until close, single tracking between Farragut North and Judiciary Sq to allow for joint elimination and fastener renewal.
Saturday, 7:00 a.m. until closing Sunday, Shady Grove boarding location change; all trains will board on the Glenmont platform.

Orange Line

Blue Line

Trains every 16-20 minutes

Blue Line trains will operate between Franconia-Springfield and Largo Town Center every 16 minutes and between Huntington and Largo Town Center every 16 minutes. At stations between King Street and Largo, the result will be a Blue Line train arriving every 8 minutes. After 8 p.m., trains will operate every 20 minutes from each terminal.

Yellow Line

No Yellow Line service

This is the final weekend of no Yellow Line service due to major improvement project on the Potomac River Bridge ; use the Blue Line for travel between Virginia and DC. Please allow extra travel time. Regular Yellow Line service resumes Monday.

Green Line

Regular weekend service
