You didn’t think we were going to end 2018 without a little Metro dysfunction, did you? Like last weekend, the Silver Line remains mostly closed for repairs: Only Wiehle-Reston East to Ballston will be open. You can transfer to the Blue or Orange lines, but be warned: Those trains are arriving every 20 minutes between Smithsonian and Federal Center SW all weekend.

At least the Red Line is back to normal, following last weekend’s slow service, along with the Green and Yellow lines.

From Metro, here are the details on this weekend’s service:

Red Line

Regular weekend service

Orange Line

Trains every 20 minutes

Due to rail, fastener and insulator renewal, trains will single track between Smithsonian and Federal Center SW

Silver Line

Trains every 20 minutes between Wiehle-Reston East & Ballston only

Due to rail, fastener and insulator renewal, Silver Line trains will run to/from Ballston only. Use Orange and/or Blue line trains to complete your trip. At Ballston, transfer between trains on the same platform.

Blue Line

Trains every 20 minutes

Due to rail, fastener and insulator renewal, trains will single track between Smithsonian and Federal Center SW

Yellow Line

Regular weekend service, Huntington to Fort Totten

Green Line

Regular weekend service
