Thousands of people will flock to D.C. this weekend to participate in the third Women’s March on Saturday, which means Metro is going to have to accommodate larger crowds than it’s used to handling on a weekend. But fear not: the transit agency is holding off on all track work on the day of the march. All lines will have regular service on Saturday until 10 p.m., when trains on the Red, Blue, and Yellow lines will start running 20 minutes apart.

Also, Monday is Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, so trains will be on a weekend schedule. The system is opening at 5 a.m. that day and closing at 11:30 p.m., and it will be charging off-peak fares all day.

Trains on the Red, Blue, and Silver lines are running on a slightly slower schedule than usual on Sunday and Monday to allow for rail fastener and grout pad renewal.

Red Line

  • Saturday:
    Open to 10:00 p.m. regular service, no track work
    10:00 p.m. until close trains every 20 minutes
  • Sunday & Monday:
    Trains every 10 minutes between Shady Grove & Farragut North during daytime hours
    Trains every 20 minutes between Shady Grove & Glenmont
    Due to rail fastener renewal and joint elimination, Red Line trains will single track between Farragut North and Judiciary Sq.

Orange Line

Regular weekend service. No track work.

Silver Line

Regular weekend service. No track work.

Blue Line

  • Saturday:
    Open to 10:00 p.m. regular service, no track work
    10:00 p.m. until close trains every 20 minutes
  • Sunday & Monday: Trains every 20 minutes
    Due to rail fastener and grout pad renewal, Blue Line trains will single track between National Airport and Braddock Rd

Yellow Line

  • Saturday:
    Open to 10:00 p.m. regular service, Huntington to Fort Totten
    10:00 p.m. until close trains every 20 minutes, Huntington to Fort Totten
  • Sunday & Monday:
    Open to 10:00 p.m. trains every 20 minutes, Huntington to Mt Vernon Sq
    10:00 p.m. until close trains every 20 minutes, Huntington to Fort Totten
    Due to rail fastener and grout pad renewal, Yellow Line trains will single track between National Airport and Braddock Rd

Green Line

Regular weekend service. No track work.
