Renovations to the Green, Yellow, Red, and Orange lines will slow metro service this weekend.

If you’re going to any Oscar’s watch parties Sunday, you might want to check the Metro schedule before venturing into the cold. Metro rail service might be a little behind due to renovations to the Red Line, Orange Line, Yellow Line, and Green Line.

The Yellow Line will only be in service between Huntington and Ronald Reagan International Airport because of cable/communications equipment installations, so if you’re going further than that, you should take the Blue Line. Red Line trains will single track between Van Ness and Dupont Circle for rail and grout pad renewal, which will slow the schedule down a bit—trains are running every eight minutes between Farragut North and Silver Spring and every 16 minutes between Shady Grove and Glenmont. Rare for a weekend, the Green Line will also run slow, operating every 18 minutes. The Orange Line is operating every 20 minutes and will single track between Stadium-Armory and Cheverly.

The Silver Line and the Blue Line, at the very least, will be running normal weekend service.

Red Line

  • Trains every 8 minutes between Farragut North and Silver Spring from 10:00 a.m. until 9:30 p.m.
  • Trains every 16 minutes between Shady Grove and Glenmont

Due to rail and grout pad renewal, Red Line trains will single track between Van Ness and Dupont Circle.

Orange Line 

  • Trains every 20 minutes

Due to fastener and rail renewal, Orange Line trains will single track between Stadium-Armory and Cheverly.

Silver Line

Regular weekend service, no track work.

Blue Line

Regular weekend service, no track work.

Yellow Line

  • Yellow Line trains operate regular weekend intervals between Huntington and National Airport only
  • Customers traveling to/from stations north of National Airport should use the Blue Line to complete their trip.

Due to installation of cable/communications equipment to support cellular service in tunnels and new radio system between Pentagon and L’Enfant Plaza

Green Line

  • Trains operate every 18 minutes
  • Last train time – the last train will depart Branch Avenue and subsequent stations 9 minutes earlier than normal.

Due to switch replacement at Mt Vernon Sq, Green Line trains will single track between L’Enfant Plaza and Mt Vernon Sq
