D.C.-area residents have long savored the reporting stylings of Pat Collins, the longtime NBC Washington correspondent who is equal parts famous for his snow stick challenge and that time he dressed up like a grape to interview a student suspended for wearing a banana costume.

Now Last Week Tonight, HBO’s weekly news comedy show helmed by John Oliver, has discovered our local treasure and his penchant for staccato delivery. During the show’s “And Now, This” segment on Sunday, the producers turned a series of typical Collins stand-ups into beat poetry, with the help of string instrumentals. It fits stunningly well.

Oliver previously dedicated a segment of his show in 2015 to explaining the need for D.C. statehood and randomly helped get #DCPublicSchools trending on Twitter during the Emmys in 2017.
