It’s actually a pretty good weekend for the Metro schedule.

It’s a good Saturday for Metro this weekend: Every single line is running on its normal weekend schedule for most of the day (three lines will run slow after 10 p.m.). So if you’ve got lots of Saturday plans around the city, you can actually depend on some timeliness from your friendly neighborhood transit agency.

But things look more familiar starting on Sunday, when the Red Line, the Blue Line, and the Yellow Line will all be running slow. The Blue and Yellow lines will be particularly bad, with trains running 24 minutes apart. The Red Line will be running either eight minutes apart, or 16 minutes apart, depending on where you are along the line. There will be grout pad renewal and track maintenance happening on these lines, according to Metro.

Red Line

  • Saturday
    Regular service until 10:00 p.m.
    10:00 p.m. until closing, trains every 16 minutes
  • Sunday
    Trains every 8 minutes between Farragut North and Silver Spring from 10:00 a.m. until 9:30 p.m.
    Trains every 16 minutes between Shady Grove and Glenmont
    Due to grout pad renewal and track maintenance, Red Line trains will single track between Van Ness and Dupont Circle.

Blue Line

  • Saturday
    Regular service until 10:00 p.m.
    10:00 p.m. until closing, trains every 24 minutes
  • Sunday
    Trains every 24 minutes
    Due to grout pad renewal and track maintenance, Blue Line trains will single track between Pentagon City and Arlington Cemetery.

Yellow Line

  • Saturday
    Regular service until 10:00 p.m.
    10:00 p.m. until closing, trains every 24 minutes
  • Sunday
    Trains every 24 minutes, Huntington to Mt Vernon Sq only
    Due to grout pad renewal and track maintenance, Yellow Line trains will single track between Pentagon City and L’Enfant Plaza. Customers traveling to/from stations north of Mt Vernon Sq should use the Green Line.
