We’ve reached the blessed time of year when Metro limits its weekend track work to accommodate the influx of crowds arriving to the city for cherry blossom season. All lines are running a regular weekend schedule for most of the day on both Saturday and Sunday.
But we can’t get too excited, seeing as the agency will resume track work after 10 p.m. both days.
The Red, Orange, and Blue lines will undergo rail and fastener renewal while the Yellow and Green lines are continuing installation of cable/communication equipment, along with a new radio system. The Silver Line is only running between Wiehle-Reston and Ballston after 10, so you’ll have to count on Orange and Blue exclusively to finish out any trips beyond that.
Mostly, though, you can enjoy a relatively timely and normal Metro schedule.
