The escalators definitely do not look this empty in the spring.

There are so many things to love about cherry blossom season: the air is warmer, the people are cheerier, the blossoms are beautiful, and the trains run on time.

For a full four weekends this year, Metro is running regular service during daytime hours on all lines to accommodate the influx of escalefter tourists coming to see the Yoshino trees in all their glory. We don’t get off scot-free however, as the Red Line, the Yellow Line, and the Green Line will all be running slow after 10 p.m. this weekend so that crews can get some maintenance work in.

Other than that? Enjoy what should be a sunny weekend, and don’t be afraid to take Metro to brunch.
