If nothing else, the question “where should we get coffee?” on Saturday is already sorted: Compass Coffee is celebrating the opening of its new Georgetown cafe by handing out free drinks all day, from 6 a.m.-7 p.m.
Any drink of any size is fair game for the deal, the company confirmed to DCist. That means matcha, tea, espresso drinks, chai lattes, and more are available. Our recommendation: Take advantage of this weekend’s kickoff to iced coffee season (read: temperatures in the 70s) with Compass’ nitro cold brew, which is creamier and frothier than iced coffee or its pretentious older cousin, cold brew.
The Georgetown location at 1351 Wisconsin Ave. NW is the 10th Compass since the company launched its first roastery in Shaw in 2014. Their second roastery is expected to open in Ivy City later this year.
