This weekend marks the 59th annual Sakura Matsuri, or Japanese Street Festival, in the District. The street fair is the culmination of the four-week National Cherry Blossom Festival, celebrating D.C.’s cherry blossom trees and its relationship with Japan.

At the Sakura Matsuri, you can expect stalls selling Japanese food and wares, several beer gardens, and 30 lives performances across five stages, from live singing to traditional taiko drumming to martial arts demonstrations. The festival is split up into four main sections called “Taste of Japan,” “Arts & Culture,” “Japan Now,” and the “Ginza Marketplace” where visitors can buy from vendors. Stages will be set up at intervals along the festival with different performances in each area. Here’s a useful map.

To attend, you can walk up to one of several entrances to the festival and buy a $10 ticket at the gate. Day-of ticket sales will be cash only, but you can also buy in advance online.

The festival is happening mainly on Pennsylvania Avenue NW between 3rd street and 7th street. It will also stretch a bit onto Constitution Ave NW. That means there are going to be street closures in this area over the weekend. Here’s what you need to know, per the Metropolitan Police Department:
