Metro’s month-long breather from weekend track work is officially over.
Heading into Easter weekend, we return with the closure of the easternmost station on the Blue and Silver lines. Buses are replacing trains at Largo Town Center to allow for switch replacement.
The Red and Green lines will also see single tracking, extending waiting times to between 9 and 18 minutes on the former and 15 minutes on the latter.
Looking ahead a few weeks: Metro will be closing down all six stations south of the National Airport on the Blue and Yellow lines from Memorial Day to Labor Day. It’s not too early to start thinking about alternative routes to work. The agency estimates that 17,000 riders will be affected.
