On Monday, D.C. will host the fifteenth annual National Memorial Day Parade in celebration of American veterans from the American Revolution to the present day. Thousands are expected to march in the parade and thousands more to watch as it runs from 2 to 4 p.m. along Constitution Ave Northwest.
The parade has been a yearly tradition in D.C. since 2004, when it returned after a 60-year hiatus to coincide with the dedication of the National World War II Memorial. This year’s celebration pays special tribute to veterans of World War II, as 2019 marks the 75th anniversary of D-Day.
Monday’s parade will feature marching bands and musical performances from Justin Moore, Kiefer Sutherland, Maelyn Jarmon, and more. Other celebrities like the actor Joe Mantegna, chef Robert Irvine, and Miss USA Cheslie Kryst are expected to be in attendance. The parade will stretch from 17th St to 7th St on Constitution Ave NW.
