By the weekend, we’ll be a week into the summer shutdown of all six Metro stations south of National Airport.

Congratulations, reader! You’ve made it through the first few days of the summer shutdown—you know, the construction project that’s closed six Metro stations along the Blue and Yellow lines for the entire summer.

There are still a few kinks the transit agency has to work out when it comes to the weekday commute for those affected by the shutdown, but Metro says things should be running fairly smoothly otherwise this weekend. In fact, some additional trains will be running along the Red Line between Shady Grove and Silver Spring from 9 a.m. – 9 p.m.

If you’re looking for an in-depth guide on how to navigate the summer shutdown, check that out here. Basically, there will be a fleet of free shuttles running passengers between the National Airport and all of the closed stations at regular weekend intervals. Keep in mind that the Blue Line shuttle will not stop at Braddock Road, so you should take the Yellow Line shuttle to that station. And the Yellow Line shuttle will not stop at National Airport, so hop on the Blue Line shuttle to get there.
