Celebrate Pride throughout D.C. this weekend, hear jazz across the region, and make time for a show. Here’s what’s happening.

FRIDAY, JUNE 7

DYKE MARCH RETURNS: History lesson: The first Dyke March happened in D.C. on April 26, 1993. And though the District has gone 12 years without the grassroots-led event, the DC Dyke March returns this year with the organizing theme of “Dykes Against Displacement.” The protest march begins at 6 p.m. (McPherson Square, 5 p.m. gathering, 6-9 p.m., FREE)

CAPACITY: On the band’s 2017 debut, Guppy, Charly Bliss perfected a ‘90s-inspired pop-punk sound with bubblegum vocals and blistering guitar. On the recently-released Young Enough, the New York band explores ‘80s-style synth and shine with thoroughly modern (and millennial) lyrical fixations. (U Street Music Hall, 6:30 p.m., $16)

WATERFRONT SOUNDS: The Capitol Riverfront Friday Night Concert Series comes back for another season of sounds by the shore. Performances continue at Yards Park on Friday evenings all summer long; this week, catch a set from Pebble to Pearl. (Yards Park, 7 9 p.m., FREE)

WOMEN’S WORLD CUP: The Women’s World Cup kicks off with the opening match between France and Korea, and the French Embassy is hosting a watch party. It’s free, but a reservation is required. (La Maison Française, 2-5 p.m., FREE)

SATURDAY, JUNE 8

NEIGHBORHOOD PRIDE: Kick off A full day of Pride festivities at Pride on the Pier. The second annual celebration brings the spirit of Pride to the Southwest with DJs, dancing, and drinks. The waterfront event also include a VIP area and a family zone for little ones. (The Wharf, 2 p.m.-9 p.m., FREE). Across town, Logan Circle celebrates with the Capital Pride Block Party, featuring food trucks, a beverage garden, and a stage with live music. The event is free, but donations are encouraged to support Capital Pride Alliance. (15th & P Sts. NW, 4-10 p.m., FREE)

THE MAIN EVENT: Earline Budd, Brandon Wolf, Matt Easton, and members of the cast of FX’s Pose serve as grand marshals for this year’s Capital Pride Parade. The theme, “shhhOUT: Past, Present & Proud,” commemorates the 50th anniversary of Stonewall. The parade begins at 21st and P, and makes its way through the neighborhood, ending at 14th and R. (Logan Circle, 4:30-7:30 p.m., FREE)

ALL THAT JAZZ: Celebrate jazz across the region at the DC Jazz Fest. The event features Jazz in the ‘Hoods performances across the region continuing through next week, plus sets at the Hamilton Live and the Kennedy Center. Saturday night’s programming includes CapitalBop’s present::futures showcase. (The Sandlot Southwest, 6:30 p.m., $13+)

PERFORMING ARTS: Playwright Evan Linder’s Byhalia, Mississippi gets a staging at the Kennedy Center, and Jack Falahee of ABC’s How to Get Away With Murder plays one of the lead roles. The production continues through July 7. (The Kennedy Center Terrace Theater, 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., $25-$89)

IN BLOOM: Spend your Sunday shopping at The Lemon Collective’s Vintage in Bloom Market. Featuring pop-ups of vintage clothes and items from Harriet’s General and Second Breakfast plus flowers and houseplants from Petworth’s She Loves Me, it’s a chance to find something one-of-a-kind. (The Lemon Collective, 1-4 p.m., FREE)

DEATHLESS: The French twins of Ibeyi draw on music from across the globe for their own work, from the Afro-Cuban percussion influences of their father Miguel “Anga” Diaz to Yoruban sacred music tradition. The genre-defying violinist Sudan Archives, aka Brittney Parks, opens. (9:30 Club, 7 p.m. doors, $25)
