The rainbow bunting along the parade route is out in full force (and it definitely varies in quality), just in time to welcome tens of thousands of revelers for Pride weekend.

There are happenings all across the city, but you’ll want to get your bearings for the main events.

On Saturday, the 1.5 mile Capital Pride Parade will start at 21st and P streets and wend its way to 14th and R streets NW. The festivities will get going around 3:30 p.m., with the parade starting about an hour later.

The weekend’s other centerpiece, the Capital Pride Festival, takes place from 12 p.m.-10 p.m. near the Capitol on Sunday. There will be three stages and more than 300 exhibitors lining Pennsylvania Avenue NW.

If you’re trying to drive through downtown over the weekend, be aware of the following street closures, per the Metropolitan Police Department (and if you’re trying to get around via Metro, here’s the weekend track work schedule).

On Saturday, the following street closures will begin at noon to accommodate parade route staging:

• 22^nd Street between N Street and Massachusetts Avenue, NW
• 23^rd Street between N Street and Q Street, NW
• Q Street between 24^th Street and 22^nd Street, NW
• O Street between 21^st Street and 22^nd Street, NW
• Newport Place between 21^st Street and 23^rd Street, NW
• N Street between 21^st Street and 22^nd Street, NW

And the following street closures will begin at approximately 2 p.m. for the parade:

• P Street, NW from 23^rd Street,  NW to Dupont Circle
• Dupont Circle
• New Hampshire Avenue from DuPont Circle to R Street, NW
• R Street from New Hampshire Avenue to 17^th Street NW
• 17^th Street from R Street NW to P Street NW
• P Street from 17^th to 14^th Street NW
• 14^th Street from P Street NW to  T Street NW

To prepare for the Capital Pride Festival, the following streets will close at noon on Saturday and stay closed through 2 a.m. on Monday: 

• 3^rd Street between Constitution Avenue and Madison Drive, NW
• Pennsylvania Avenue, NW between Constitution Avenue and 3^rd Street NW

And these streets will be closed starting at 5 p.m. on Saturday, through 2 a.m. on Monday: 

• Pennsylvania Avenue, NW from 3^rd Street, NW to 7^th Street, NW
• Constitution Avenue, NW from 3^rd Street, NW to 7^th Street, NW
• 4^th Street, NW from Madison Drive, NW to Pennsylvania Avenue, NW
• 6^th Street, NW from C Street, NW to Constitution Avenue, NW
