The D.C. Metro, looking ominous as its weekend schedule.

Just when we let ourselves believe there was one line on the Metro that wouldn’t ruin our weekend travels … This Saturday and Sunday, the Green Line shatters our illusion that it can be trusted to run on time, as switch maintenance and other track work slows trains to every 24 minutes. Green Line trains will also be single tracking between Naylor Road and Anacostia.

The Red Line will also be slightly wonky this weekend, but only after 10 p.m., when trains will run every 16 minutes. Before that, along most of the line, trains will run every six to seven minutes.

And, of course, we are still in the midst of the great Blue and Yellow line shutdown. Six stations along those lines are closed until September 9. If you need some workaround options, see details below or check out this handy guide.
