Father’s Day is upon us and once again, D.C., like much of the nation, can’t seem to get away from the idea that all dad wants on his special day is a meat-and-beer laden meal. Here are some options to choose from this weekend:
Pinstripes will be offering a Father’s Day brunch special, featuring all-you-can-drink mimosas, a waffle station, and a meat carving station. If you want to celebrate dad a bit earlier, you can catch Pinstripes’ four-course beer dinner with beers from Baltimore-brewery Heavy Seas Beer on Friday, June 14 at their Georgetown location. (Pinstripes, beer dinner 7 p.m.-9 p.m. Friday, tickets $60; brunch, Sunday, 10 a.m.-4 p.m., $40 for adults, $15 for children 6-12, and free for children 5 and under)
Brookland’s Finest and Sloppy Mama’s will tag-team it this Father’s Day to offer a special BBQ-centric menu, featuring pulled pork sliders and a smoked beef brisket. And because it’s still Pride month, the eatery will continue serving their Pride-themed Civic Cooler cocktail. A portion of the proceeds will go to Translaw DC, an organization that provides legal support to transgender people in the D.C.-area. (Brookland’s Finest, Sunday, 10 a.m.-10:30 p.m., a la carte)
DBGB will offer dads a crash-course on how to break down and stuff a hog with their Beer and Butchery class. The educational experience will also include beer from Flying Dog Brewery and a pork-rich small bites menu that includes crispy pork belly and bacon. (DBGB, Saturday, 11 a.m.-1 p.m., tickets $85)
French bistro Central Michel Richard will serve up a boozy Bourbon Brunch for dads, with crème brûlée french toast, shrimp and grits, and crab cake Benedict on the menu. Brunchers can pair the French fare with a bourbon flight for another $20. (Central Michel Richard, Sunday, 11 a.m.-2:30 p.m., $42 each)
Wild Days is launching a rooftop BBQ series this Father’s Day at the Eaton DC hotel with meat and cocktails galore. The menu includes brisket and pork belly (surprise, surprise!), as well as local music and a rooftop view of the city. (Wild Days, Sunday, 2 p.m.-5 p.m., $22 for adults; $12 for kids)
