Hope you all had a lovely Father’s Day weekend and didn’t overindulge on food, as there are a number of tasty food events through the city this week. Those—and more—below:

MONDAY, JUNE 17

PAE-YEAH: Jaleo will kick off its 17th annual Paella Festival at its Crystal City location with an event that’s promises to bring the best tastes of Spain to the District. With unlimited food and drink, the only thing that’s missing is a good siesta. (Jaleo Crystal City, 5 p.m.-9 p.m., $40)

GLOW UP: Looking for a slightly unconventional evening activity? Look no further than a moonlight hiking trip at the National Arboretum. The roughly 3 mile trek is most certainly a hike, so pull on your best boots and get to walking. (National Arboretum, 8 p.m.-10 p.m., donation)

DANGER, WILL ROBINSON: If you love hearing stories of peril, The Moth D.C.’s Story Slam for this week is all about danger and the courage—or sheer dumbness—that often comes with it. While the tickets are sold out online, there will be a number available at the door on a first-come, first-serve basis. (City Winery, 7:30 p.m.-10:30 p.m., $15)

GEEK OUT: If you’re looking for a fun space discuss the latest in nerd culture, Fantom Comics will host its weekly Comics & Cocktails at the Big Hunt on Monday. And with the E3 video game expo having just wrapped up, I’m sure there will be plenty of big game announcements to lose your mind about. (The Big Hunt, 6:30 p.m., free entry)

TUESDAY, JUNE 18

AMERICANA: What if Norman Rockwell’s famed Four Freedoms series was reimagined for a modern era? Artists Hank Willis Thomas and Emily Shur set out to accomplish that very goal, with a striking and bold new series of images that remixes a bit of classic Americana for the modern era. The artists will join New York Times critic (one of my favorites in the business) Wesley Morris for a discussion about their process. (Hirshorn, 6:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m., FREE with registration)

DUNDEES: A recent report stated that Netflix users spend more time streaming old episodes of The Office more than any other show. And while that personally, couldn’t be me, there’s a chance that you, dear reader, might be one of those people. If you know the difference between your bears, beets, and Battlestar Galacticas–this trivia contest at Pinstripes is for you. (Pinstripes, 7 p.m.-9 p.m., FREE with registration)

PLANT POWER: Vegans, unite! Plant Dining Partnerships will, well, partner with Sticky Rice for an all vegan sushi menu on Tuesday night at their H Street location. While drinks aren’t included in the cost of the ticket, there will be more delicious sushi than you can shake a chopstick at. (Sticky Rice H Street, 6 p.m.-8:30 p.m., $35)

IT’S MAGIC: Hugo award winning writer Sarah Gailey will debut their newest book, Magic for Liars, at Loyalty Bookstore on Wednesday evening. The book spins a tale about Ivy Gamble, who is called into investigate a murder at a school for magic users where her estranged sister teaches. The ticket price includes a copy of the book. (Loyalty Bookstores, 7 p.m.-10 p.m., $30)

MOVIE NIGHT: The touring film festival Lunafest will visit D.C. with a selection of award-winning short films for, by, and about women. Proceeds from the evening will go to assist mothers in low-wage jobs who are working to care for their families. (Georgetown University Law Center, 6:30 p.m.-9:30 p.m., $5)

SMELLS LIKE (JAPANESE) SPIRIT: The Embassy of Japan, Smithsonian Associates, and beloved D.C. ramen house Daikaya will team for a tasting of Satsuma shochu; Hailed as one of the nation’s most popular spirits, it’ssadly not well known outside of Japan. Drink up, gain some knowledge, and chow down with food from Daikaya. (S. Dillon Ripley Center, 6:45 p.m., $35-$50).

WINE NOT: Music and wine lovers rejoice, as City Winery will host Playalistic Pinot, a listening party that aims to pair wine with some of the best music around. This will focus on the classic Outkast album Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik, and will also feature a conversation about the album’s impact. (City Winery, 5:30 p.m.-8:00 p.m., $20)

SWING AWAY: The Washington Nationals will close out the Phillies on Thursday at home. If you’re a scorned fan that hasn’t had a chance to see (or even boo) former Nationals player Bryce Harper, now’s your time. (Nationals Stadium, 7:05 p.m., prices vary)

SUNSET: June 20 is World Refugee Day and George Washington University’s School of International Affairs will host a sunset run to draw awareness and support refugees around the world. After the run, all groups will meet at the Lincoln Memorial for a candlelight vigil. (Elliott School of International Affairs, 7 p.m.-9:30 p.m., FREE with registration)

RING THE BELL: As part of the By the People festival, D.C. artist Stephanie Mercedes will take empty bullet casings and repurpose them into actual ringing bells. In what’s sure to be an emotional experience, those in attendance will work to create a poem, which will then be engraved on the bell. (IA&A at Hillyer, 6:30 p.m.-8:30 p.m., FREE with registration)
