THE DUKE: Once thought lost, has now returned. The iconic portrait of legendary musician Duke Ellington on U Street NW was restored earlier this year, but Monday evening will see a rededication of one of U Street’s most famous landmarks. BATTER UP: The Nationals kick off a home series against the Colorado Rockies on Monday. Over the last few weeks, our home team has really started to turn their season around, so now is a perfect time to catch up if you’ve missed out. (Nationals Park, 7:05 p.m., 11+)
PRINT EM’: Screen printing is so much more than just designing t-shirts and posters, and The Lemon Collective will host an introductory class to show you the ropes. Throughout the night, you’ll learn about the various techniques used to create stunning images, while also getting a chance to try your hand at designing one. SCOOPS, AHOY: Did you know it’s hot outside? It’s hot outside. Which is why something nice and cool like ice cream sounds awfully appealing right now. Fortunately, pineapple dc has got more frozen delights than you can shake a scooper at with their Dairy Queens event. The women behind four famed local ice cream brands—Ice Cream Jubilee, Ruby Scoops, Dolcezza Gelato, and BlueNoon Gelato—will be on hand to talk about “ice cream as a platform for cultural discussion, nostalgia and exchange.” Oh, and there will be a sundae bar. LET’S GO CRAZY: To celebrate the 35th anniversary of one of the greatest albums ever made, City Winery will host another one of their wine listening parties to Purple Rain. The tones of Prince’s masterpiece will accompany a number of individual wine pairings. We think the purple one would approve. (City Winery, 5:30 p.m.-8 p.m., $20)
RING THE BELLS: Concept Chef Michael Costa and Zaytinya will welcome Michigan-based brewery Bell’s for a five-course tasting menu. Set to include a mixture of fan favorites and new release brews, the whole menu looks to be a delight for both foodies and beer snobs alike. (Zaytinya, 6:30 p.m.-9 p.m., $75)

LITERARY: The Library of Congress has a full suite of activities on Thursday evening. First up, performers Shing02 and Fat Jon will headline a concert that combines both Japanese and African American traditions in an anime and hip-hop performance. DANCE, DANCE: If you’ve yet to experience the joy of a silent disco, Freedom Plaza will host a free one on Thursday evening. With complimentary headphones and three different channels, there’s bound to a catchy tune or two to help you dance your way into your Friday and on into the weekend.
