THROWBACK TUNES: Before streaming meant entire catalogs were accessible with a click, records went out of print and could be forgotten. Take the case of Duster, a Calif. group undergoing a renaissance thanks to a recent Numero Group reissue. GO GLOBAL: Celebrate the hands-on, collaborative spirit of the World’s Fairs of the 19th century. A daylong program at the DAR Museum recreates these fairs with the help of the city’s embassies, which will host booths of educational opportunities and cultural displays from around the world. There are opportunities for Girl Scouts to earn badges, too. (DAR Museum, 10 a.m.-3 p.m., FREE)

GAME ON: The fifth annual SAAM Arcade turns the museum into an immersive, interactive gaming destination. Take in the Indie Developer Showcase which features Q&As with developers, or try your hand at vintage consoles. The event continues through Sunday. PHONE HOME: Sure, everyone’s talking about the Area 51 raid, but why not show your love for an iconic alien? See Steven Spielberg’s classic E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial featuring a live score from the National Symphony Orchestra conducted by Emil de Cou under the stars. SHOPPING SEASON: It’s hot out. Everyone’s on vacation. It’s time to treat yourself.
