The Red Line is running slow this weekend.

If you’re taking Metro this weekend, you may want to avoid the Red Line, because it’s running slow … again. Red Line trains are running every 18 minutes, with additional trains every 9-10 minutes between Farragut North and Glenmont during select hours. The Orange, Silver, and Green lines are running on their regular weekend schedules.

And of course, the Blue and Yellow lines are still partially shut down…so add a bit of time to your travels if you’re taking those lines. But the silver lining (hopefully) is that there’s only three weekends left before the six station closures are slated to end.

Red Line

  • Trains every 18 minutes
  • Additional trains every 9-10 minutes between Farragut North and Glenmont 9AM – 9PM
  • Due to rail renewal, trains will single track between Van Ness and Friendship Heights
  • This work will continue in this location each weekend through Sunday, September 8

Orange Line

  • Regular weekend service

Silver Line

  • Regular weekend service

Blue Line 

  • Regular weekend service between Reagan National Airport and Largo Town Center
  • Free shuttle buses replace Blue Line trains between Reagan National Airport and Franconia-Springfield
    • Free shuttle bus information
    • Blue Line shuttles will operate between Franconia-Springfield, Van Dorn Street, King St-Old Town and National Airport. (The Blue Line shuttle does not stop at Braddock Road. Customers traveling to/from Braddock Road should use a Yellow Line shuttle.)
    • Franconia-Pentagon Express shuttles will operate between Franconia-Springfield and Pentagon stations only.
    • Customers should allow 15 minutes of travel time for each station stop.
  • Franconia-Springfield, Van Dorn Street, King St-Old Town, and Braddock Road stations will be closed.

Yellow Line

  • Regular weekend service between Reagan National Airport and Greenbelt
  • Free shuttle buses replace Yellow Line trains between Crystal City and Huntington.
    • Free shuttle bus information
    • Yellow Line shuttles will operate between Huntington, Eisenhower Avenue, King St-Old Town, Braddock Road and Crystal City. (The Yellow Line shuttle does not stop at National Airport. Customers traveling to/from National Airport should use a Blue Line shuttle.)
    • Huntington-Pentagon Express shuttles will operate between Huntington and Pentagon stations only.
    • Customers should allow 15 minutes of travel time for each station stop.
  • Huntington, Eisenhower Avenue, King St-Old Town and Braddock Road stations will be closed.

Green Line
