With some of the first mild temperatures falling on the District this weekend, crowds are sure to descend on the various autumnal activities happening across the city. If you’re among the the throngs and you plan to take metro, be advised of a closure on the Silver Line and some single tracking elsewhere.
The Wiehle-Reston East stop on the Silver line will close this weekend due to Phase Two work. Free shuttle buses will replace the line between Spring Hill and Wiehle-Reston East. Aside from this disruption, the rest of Metro should function as expected, with a few exceptions on the Red and Blue lines.
Red Line trains will single track between the Van Ness and Dupont Circle stops as crews work to install cable and communication equipment that will support cell service and new radio systems on the line. Thanks to some lighting installation, Blue Line trains will single track between Stadium-Armory and Addison Road.
