Riders can expect rush hour trains on Saturday and single tracking on the Red Line on Sunday.

Plans for weekend track work have been dashed thanks to the Nationals championship parade. Metro is instead running extra trains on Saturday during the celebration.

With crowds likely to pour in for the Nats parade, trains will operate at rush-hour levels from 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. in downtown D.C. with trains coming every three to four minutes. End of line stations will have trains departing every six to 12 minutes. The company Xfinity is footing the bill, the transit agency says.

Metro is postponing trackbed lighting installations which would have closed Orange, Blue, and Silver line stations between McPherson Square and Federal Center SW. However, Red Line trains will single track between Van Ness and Dupont Circle due to cable installation.

“On Saturday, we want our streets packed with fans and champions, not cars,” said Mayor Muriel Bowser in a Metro press release. “With Metro running rush-hour service all day on Saturday, there are no excuses for trying to drive downtown.”

Metro isn’t the only one pushing off infrastructure work on the weekend of World Series revelry. The National Park Service announced that it has postponed Arlington Memorial Bridge’s planned weekend closure, rescheduling it for the weekend of November 15. It’ll begin at 10 p.m. on Friday the 15th and last until 5 a.m. on Monday, November 18.

Metro is expecting high traffic at stations close to the parade like Federal Triangle, Archives, and Judiciary Square, and recommends riders consider using Metro Center, Gallery Place, or Union Station instead.

After the rush-hour service ends at 6 p.m., Red Line trains will run at normal weekend intervals until 10 p.m.—at that point, trains will come every 16 minutes until close. On Sunday, buses will replace trains between Wheaton and Glenmont until 2 p.m. due to a quarterly drill.
