If you’re planning on using the Orange, Silver, or Blue lines this weekend, you may want to pencil some extra travel time into your schedule.
Due to trackbed installation, shuttle buses will replace trains between McPherson Square and Federal Center SW on the Orange, Silver, and Blue lines. The lower levels of the Metro Center and L’Enfant Plaza stations will be closed along these lines, and the Federal Triangle and Smithsonian stations will be shuttered entirely.
As a result of the closures, customers transferring to and from Red Line trains should consider using Farragut Crossing. Riders traveling through the work zone will be charged for one continuous trip. If you’re planning to travel or transfer at a station between Federal Center SW and Largo Town Center on the silver line, consider using the Blue Line instead.
If you’re looking to catch a train after a night out, WMATA will be adjusting the schedule for the last nightly train on each line to accommodate for the shuttle bus connections.
The Red, Yellow, and Green lines will be running normal weekend schedules.
