IN STITCHES: If you’ve ever wanted to cross-stitch, Shop Made in DC is hosting an event that’s totally beginner friendly, focused on teaching the fundamentals of this beloved hobby. TAKE ME TO CHURCH: Irish singer/songwriter Hozier will visit The Anthem on Monday in support of his sophomore album Wasteland, Baby! Yes, there will be the trip to church, but the performer has evolved beyond that single to explore different modes, too. Angie McMahon, a young performer making her own waves, opens. SIPPIN’: Red Derby’s beloved Sip and Paint will change things up for this session: Instead of canvas, crafters will work with prints. working instead on prints instead of canvas. You’ll use inks, colored papers, and stencils to screen print a one-of-a-kind art print. (Red Derby, 7 p.m.-9 p.m., $25)

FOG: Fresh off a captivating third album, Los Angeles-based band From Indian Lakes will hit the stage at Songbyrd with their indie rock sound. Fronted by singer/songwriter Joey Vannucchi, their most recent collection of songs, Dimly Lit, contains some of the band’s strongest work yet, pairing Vannucchi’s delicate and powerful vocals alongside raucous guitar parts. NATIVE CREATIVES: The Kennedy Center’s REACH annex will host a conversation with four of DC’s best and brightest local creatives. Moderated by speaker and entrepreneur Shantae J. Edwards, Humanitini: Black Native Creative features speakers Aiyi’nah Ford, executive director of the Future Foundation; Matthew Green, co-founder of District Running Collective; and Dwayne Lawson-Brown, CEO of Crochet Kingpin. The panel of black creatives will talk about how they’re making their passions work while supporting their communities. (The REACH, 6 p.m.-8 p.m., FREE)
SLAP: How I Met Your Mother fans might still be polarized over the show’s lackluster ending, but if there’s something that they’re all likely to agree on, it’s the strength of the show’s Slapsgiving episodes. In honor of those sitcom classics, Pinstripes will tailor this week’s trivia event around Ted and the crew’s Thanksgiving shenanigans with five rounds of deep-dive questions. This week’s edition will cover Lawrence Wright’s Going Clear: Scientology, Hollywood, and the Prison of Belief, which served as the basis for the HBO documentary of the same name. CONFESSIONAL: City Winery’s latest wine pairing and listening experience will turn its attention to the 15-year-anniversary of Usher’s Confessions. FUN RUN: For those that love some good cold weather running, be sure to check out Potomac River Running’s Running Collaboration event. HOT GIRL: One of the year’s hottest hip-hop acts will visit D.C. on Thursday, when Megan Thee Stallion plays Bliss Nightclub. The originator of “hot girl summer,” Megan is one of the best up and coming rappers around, whose raunchy, clever, and energetic songwriting and performing has captivated fans. (Bliss Nightclub, 10 p.m., $25)
SHORTS: The Video Consortium and the Outrage have teamed for an event on Thursday night that aims to foster a larger conversation about women creators behind and in front of the camera. VCDC’s slate of short films will be followed by pizza and a discussion. Drinks are available for purchase. (The Outrage, 6:30 p.m.-10 p.m., $10)
FARMING: Those looking to go ahead and get a start on their holiday giving should be sure to visit Colony Club this night as the Women Food and Agriculture Network will be hosting a fundraising event focused on empowering women. WFAN will host its new executive director, Sherri Dugger, as she talks about community building around a resilient and inclusive food system. TITUS: Indie rockers Titus Andronicus will play Black Cat in support of their third album. The band’s first two albums were Herculean efforts, requiring dozens of musicians to execute on singer-songwriter Patrick Stickles’ vision, but their new album An Obelisk saw that vision get pared down to a small, tight-knit group, without sacrificing the band’s intricate plotting and artistry.
