‘TIS THE SEASON: It’s the return of an annual tradition: The 15th Downtown Holiday Market takes over the block centered at 8th and F Streets NW with more than 150 craftsmakers and 60 exhibitors. The pop-up continues through Sunday, December 23 daily excluding Thanksgiving. (F Street between 7th and 9th Streets NW, 12 p.m.-8 p.m., free entry)
HONORING JANE: It’s opening day for the new Becoming Jane: The Evolution of Dr. Jane Goodall exhibition at the National Geographic Museum. The installation, which continues through next summer, includes a 3D look at Tanzania’s Gombe Stream National Park and a replica of Goodall’s research tent. (National Geographic Museum, 10 a.m.-6 p.m., $10-$15/FREE under 5)
A SHOP SPOT: If you’re the type who needs to get holiday shopping done by Thanksgiving, head to the Junior League of Washington’s Holiday Shops this weekend. The event also features a family fun photo with Santa; proceeds help fund the Junior League’s efforts. (Dock5 at Union Market, 10 a.m.-6 p.m., $5)

MAKE THE SEASON BRIGHT: Get lost in the lights at Enchant: The Great Search Christmas light maze and market at Nationals Park. Weave through an illuminated Christmastime display, and enjoy a holiday market, ice skating and seasonal treats. MARKET MOMENT: It wouldn’t be D.C. without the DC Punk Rock Flea. Get one-of-a-kind objects and socially conscious wares from a variety of vendors at the pop-up. Admission is free, but canned goods donations for We Are Family are highly encouraged. (St. Stephen & the Incarnation Episcopal Church, 12 p.m.-5 p.m., free admission)
DRINK UP: There’s more to celebrate than the impending holiday season: Le Beaujolais Nouveau est arrivé! At the Beaujolais and Beyond Celebration 2019, you can sip and savor unlimited Beaujolais Nouveau all night long, plus a French buffet and plenty of cheese, bread and pastries, too.
