Get your popcorn ready: A movie starring Michael B. Jordan is filming in D.C. this week. Without Remorse will be in production near Dupont Circle, according to Michael Mitchell, chief communication officer of the Office of Cable Television, Film, Music & Entertainment.

The film from Paramount Pictures is based on a Tom Clancy novel and has a release date of September 18, 2020, per IMDB. Jordan stars as John Clark, a Navy SEAL-turned-CIA operative who “goes on a path to avenge his wife’s murder only to find himself inside of a larger conspiracy.”

Clark operates in the same Tom Clancy fictional world as Amazon’s Jack Ryan, starring John Krasinski as the wayward commuter himself. Clark appeared in 17 of the Jack Ryan novels as a supporting character, and Without Remorse was Clancy’s first novel to feature him as a star.

Jordan stars alongside Jodie Turner-Smith (Queen & Slim) and Jamie Bell (Fantastic Four, Rocketman) in the film, directed by Stefano Sollima. Without Remorse is the first in a planned film series about Clark, and Paramount is currently developing a follow up, Rainbow Six, based on Clark’s counter-terrorism unit. The Rainbow team is already the focus of a popular video game series.

The filming is set to take place Thursday, bringing traffic advisories near Dupont Circle. The following streets will be closed to vehicular traffic from approximately 6:30 p.m. on Thursday to 6 a.m. Friday, according to the Metropolitan Police Department:

  • Corcoran Street between 17th and 19th Streets, NW
  • R Street between 17th and 19th Streets, NW
  • New Hampshire Avenue between Riggs Place and Q Streets, NW
  • 18th Street between Riggs Place and Q Street, NW

No word has been released yet on whether Jordan and his co-stars will be on set during the D.C. filming. A production manager associated with the film didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment.
