Are you still celebrating the fact that the Nationals won the freaking World Series? If so, next weekend might be your chance to meet some of the defending champs in person, hang out at Nationals Park, and do a bunch of winter-themed and family-friendly activities.
Nationals Winterfest comes to the waterfront stadium on January 11 and 12, and players, coaches, and front office staff will be in attendance for Q&As, meet-and-greets, and autograph signings. The annual event was previously held at the Convention Center, but came to Nats Park for the first time last year.
The World Series trophy and the Nats’ bullpen cart will make appearances, both of which fans can take photos with.
But there are some important caveats: additional vouchers are required for some of the more sought-after activities. On top of the cost of the tickets—$27 for children, $37 for adults—autographs will run visitors an additional $25, while photos with the trophy cost $5. Proceeds will go to the Nationals Dream Foundation, which supports “initiatives focused on academics, the arts, nutrition and sports” for D.C.-area youth. (Guests are also encouraged to donate new or gently used baseball/softball equipment, and ten donors will win a meet-and-greet with a Nats player)
The event will also feature photo stations with the Racing Presidents, a curling rink, and baseball clinics (at a cost of $15) led by Nationals Youth Baseball Academy coaches and Nationals players.
Winterfest will Jan. 11-12 from 12 – 4 p.m. Saturday tickets have sold out, but Sunday tickets are still available ($27 for children over 2, $37 for adults). Vouchers are not yet on sale.
