The Oscars is still struggling to find its footing—a largely homogeneous nominee line-up, no host on stage—but the show will go on. There are plenty of spots around town to dress up, drink, forecast winners, and watch the whole glitzy spectacle unfold on Sunday evening.

Some inspired cocktails

Commissary will host its 9th annual Oscars viewing party with bites and drinks inspired by this year’s nominees (fancy attire not required). Highlights include a Little Women Clam Chowder for New England vibes, halibut poached in olive oil as a nod to Marriage Story (because, like its characters, oil and water don’t mix?), a Parasite “Sake-tini” featuring Korean sake, and an old fashioned spiked with Irish whiskey to celebrate The Irishman. Go for happy hour or stay for the show.
1443 P St. NW, 4 p.m.-8 p.m. for red carpet happy hour, 6 p.m. red carpet coverage, and 8 p.m. awards show, a la carte.

A star-studded excuse for bottomless

Eat more than your favorite celebs with unlimited tapas and sangria, wine, and beer at Boqueria’s Dupont Circle location. Their prix-fixe viewing party will have crispy patatas bravas with garlic aioli, traditional Spanish shrimp and eggplant dishes, and churros with dipping chocolate. Reservations recommended. If you’re hosting your own gathering—or just don’t want to leave your couch—the restaurant also has catering packages.
1837 M Street NW, 7 p.m., $49.

Happy hour for the whole show

At Arcuri’s 3rd annual watch party, broadcasts will include drink specials all night long ($2 off all rails, drafts, and wine) to pair with pizzas, pastas, salads, and sandwiches.
2400 Wisconsin Avenue NW, 7 p.m.-10 p.m., a la carte.

A glitzy fundraiser, red carpet included

Saint Ives in Dupont Circle will support the Washington Film Institute with a ticketed red carpet walk and watch party gala. Break out the cocktail attire for photos on the carpet, and the restaurant will give out best dressed awards and prizes for those who guess the Oscar winners in major categories. Tickets include a glass of champagne (but make sure to eat beforehand—there’s no food on the premises).
1220 Connecticut Avenue NW, 7:30 p.m.-midnight, $25-$50.

Watch the Oscars with your new closest friends

If you’re into meeting new people, the Embassy Row Hotel is screening the Oscars alongside networking with the International Club of DC, and specialty cocktails and food for purchase. Less of a relaxing, sit-and-watch thing, more for mingling. Ticket prices may increase.
2015 Massachusetts Avenue NW, 7:30 p.m.-11 p.m., $10 (21+)

And the award for the most drinks goes to…

Truxton Inn hosts a ticketed all-you-can-drink viewing party with endless Ruffin prosecco, Heaven Hill old fashioneds, and Narragansett tallboys, as well as free popcorn and snack mix. Those who fill out ballets to predict the Oscar winners by 8 p.m. will be entered to win a cocktail class for four people.
251 Florida Avenue NW, 7 p.m., $40.

The Midlands’ queen bee plays host

The Midlands’ “Night Out at the Oscars” party will has a little bit of everything: trivia on past Oscar winners and songs during the red carpet showing, a winners prediction contest with prizes, and drink specials. Dressing up is optional, though there will also be a best dressed contest.
3333 Georgia Avenue NW, 6:30 p.m.-midnight, a la carte.
