Valentine’s Day might be our most polarizing holiday—but whether you hate it or love it, there’s bound to be an event crafted for you in D.C. this Friday.

Romantic Dinners

America Eats Tavern
3139 M St. NW

Expect the typical menu at José Andrés’ Georgetown restaurant, with a few additions: a smoked pork belly dish with pickled cranberries and radishes, and a dessert dubbed the Raspberry Ruby Lush, composed of orange sponge cake laced with hibiscus syrup and served with chocolate mousse. D.C.’s New Orleans-inspired jazz band Laissez Foure will perform from 9 p.m.-11 p.m.

Bindaas
3309 Connecticut Ave. NW and 2000 Pennsylvania Ave. NW

These sister Indian restaurants are offering special dishes on their a la carte menus this Valentine’s Day. There’s a new version of the restaurant’s kathi roll made with duck breast and spiced orange marmalade, a lamb shank with saffron and caramelized onion, and strawberry tiramisu for dessert. Reservations are available at both locations.

Commissary
1443 P St. NW

The Logan Circle restaurant will feature a three-course menu for $47 per person, with the option to pair it with a bottle of wine for a total of $63. The menu includes dishes such as vegetable ravioli and a trio of chocolates.

Fainting Goat
1330 U St. NW

The U Street restaurant and bar has pulled all of the stops to create a romantic evening with a three course dinner for two, priced at $110 per couple. Guests can choose from various specials to build a menu that fits their mood, from a winter citrus salad with grapefruit and avocado to a sweet-and-savory “Goat Cheesecake.” Reservations available here.

Supra
1205 11th St. NW

Sure, the traditional cheesy bread dish khachapuri can be plenty romantic, but this Georgian restaurant will also be offering several special dishes for V-Day. There’s oysters, duck breast with blackberry sauce, a suckling pig, and a pomegranate cheesecake for dessert.

Galentine’s Day

Parks and Rec Marathon at Mola
3155 Mt. Pleasant St. NW

“Make Leslie Knope proud” at this Galentine’s Day event on Feb. 13 at Mola. The tapas restaurant will have its full menu available, with 20 percent off women-made spirits and wine from 5:30 p.m.-10 p.m. Parks and Recreation will be streaming from 9 p.m. to close, and the restaurant will be sure to feature the iconic “Galentine’s Day” episode in particular. There will also be an option letter-writing service as part of the Share the Love & Make a Difference initiative, where guests can write letters of well-wishes to the elderly.

Calico
50 Blagden Alley NW

The Blagden Alley bar has something for everyone at its “VAL/PAL/GUY/GALentine’s Day Party.” On Feb. 14 from 4 p.m.-10 p.m., the bar will offer $5 off carafes and bottles of wine, $10 off beer growlers, and a DIY valentine craft station. For $35, guests can indulge in a specialty dessert tower featuring red velvet cupcakes, chocolate-covered strawberries, and more.

The Living Room
515 15th St. NW

On February 13, the local flower shop She Loves Me will be on site at the W Hotel’s newly renovated lobby offering bouquets for sale, along with a “Galentine’s” happy hour from 4 p.m.-6:30 p.m. For the special occasion, the bar will also serve a D.C. Flower Delivery cocktail made with vodka and elderflower liqueur, topped with edible flowers.

Urbana
2121 P St. NW

For the second annual Galentine’s Day celebration at Urbana, the restaurant is donating a portion of all proceeds to No Kid Hungry. From 5 p.m.-10 p.m., there will be a $10 pizza and prosecco special, along with $8 female-themed cocktails and select $5 wine and beer.

Singles Club — Or Just Bitter And Vengeful

12 Stories
75 District Square SW

On Valentine’s Day, 12 Stories will host a “Single in the City” party, hosted by the dating app Bumble. From 9 p.m. until 1 a.m., the bar will serve specialty Casamigos themed cocktails and have a Bumble photo booth available for photos. Added bonus: show the bar you’ve downloaded the Bumble app and get a cocktail on the house.

Brookland’s Finest
3126 12th St. NE

This Brookland pub is ditching the conversation hearts and featuring all things salty and bitter. Think salted pretzel bites with mustard, French fries, salted caramel ice cream, apple pie made with bitters, and Brussels sprout chips. Wash it down with super hoppy IPAs or bitter-forward cocktails, like negronis or boulevardiers.

Crumbs & Whiskers
211 O St. NW, 3109 M St. NW

Both of the rescue organization’s Cat and Kitten cafes will be collecting names of ex-boyfriends, ex-girlfriends, ex-best friends, ex-bosses, and other former loved ones in their brand new litter box. At the end of the month, they will livestream their cats … relieving themselves on them, “with a tasteful angle.” To write a name for the box, a donation of $5 is required, which will go towards Australian Wildlife Relief.

Transformer at The Line
1770 Euclid St. NW

Local gallery Transformer is throwing its fourth annual Heartbreakers’ Ball from 7 p.m.-11 p.m. on Valentine’s Day at The Line hotel. More than 40 works from D.C.-area artists will be on display; you can also expect karaoke, a photo booth, and a variety of desserts. Tickets are $25 per person, or $40 for a couple (romantic or friendly!) and include a glass of bubbly each.
