A Metro rider was stabbed on the upper bus platform at the Pentagon Metro station this morning around 9 am. Metro Transit Police has confirmed the victim, an adult male, was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.
There were several witnesses to the incident as trains and buses continued to operate during the coronavirus crisis.
“The guy behind me said there was so much blood it looked like somebody was shot,” said Ami Marisol, a federal contractor who was in the area at the time. “EMS rushed somebody off on a stretcher, the shuttle area has been closed off.” she said.
An official at the Pentagon Force Protection Agency said that the incident has now been referred to Metro for investigation.
Trains are bypassing Pentagon Station in both directions due to the ongoing police investigation. Preliminary suspect information has been established and an investigation is ongoing, according to officials.
