Editor’s note: DCist suspended our daily events guides in mid-March. But we’re bringing back weekday and weekend posts with ways to have virtual fun. We’ll be focused specifically on digital offerings from D.C.-area artists, musicians, fitness instructors, and others. (Want us to know about a virtual event? Submit them here.) And don’t forget about our guide to free movies, audiobooks, art and other offerings from area institutions.

FRIDAY, APRIL 10

SALSA AT HOME: If you’re miss dancing on Friday nights with Friday Salsa Bachata DC, join local DJ Renzo for a virtual salsa party. For an hour and a half, participants are invited to leave their stress behind and dance as DJ Renzo spins from his home. Participants are invited to share videos and photos of their virtual dance parties. (8 p.m., FREE)

WE FOUND LOVE: Social distancing making your love life dull? Tinder getting a bit boring? Every Friday night through May, DC Fray is hosting a speed dating night. For $10, you will enjoy a night of FaceTime dates. Don’t worry about not knowing what to say: icebreakers will be provided and social time with others will be available before and after dates. (7 p.m., $10)

YOGA ALL DAY: Many of D.C.’s yoga instructors are out of work with their studios closed, but that doesn’t mean they’ve stopped offering ways to practice. The Yoga Collective has assembled a group of local instructors for daily classes. On Friday, you can practice with four different instructors with classes several times a day with classes ranging from power vinyasa to restorative yoga. Check their Instagram for the daily schedule. (Various times, FREE, but donations for instructors are appreciated)

TELL ME A STORY: Story Collider, a non-profit focused around telling real, personal science stories, will lull you away from your reality into theirs for a story hour on Friday night. This week’s theme is what it means to be human—and un-human. Three storytellers will be speaking and then audience members are invited to tell their own ten-word stories. (7 p.m., FREE but donations appreciated)

SATURDAY, APRIL 11

GARDEN TIME: Close your eyes and imagine you’re in the U.S. Botanic Gardens for its Saturday morning yoga series. With Love Pop Up Yoga, which will be continuing its yoga program virtually every Saturday morning, you can be. The first 500 yogis to log into the Zoom call will be permitted into the one-hour meditation and yoga practice. Participants are encouraged to get cozy on their porch or inside with an open window. (10:30 a.m., FREE)

IN THIS HAUS WE DANCE: Sauf Haus Bier Hall & Garden is hosting a “Quarantine Turn-Up” that you can partake in from your home. Join the bar’s Saturday night Facebook Live with DJ Xavi Hernández and Guest DJ Easy. Make sure you have a beverage in-hand, though. The event is free, but contributions to Sauf Haus’ GoFundMe or the purchase of gift cards are appreciated. (6 p.m., FREE)

MIND BLOCK: You probably thought you’d be so productive while working from home, right? If you are stuck in a rut, join Dragon’s Breath Yoga for a workshop on how to get loose and get your creative juices flowing. Bring a journal, yoga mat, and some unfinished business you’re ready to confront. The workshop will consist of online discussion, guided meditation, and breath work. (2 p.m., $25)

SUNDAY, APRIL 12

HEALING THROUGH POETRY: Busboys & Poets is keeping its weekly “Keep The Mic On” poetry series going. This week host Charity Joyce Blackwell will be welcoming Asha Santee. All performances will focus on an artist who uses their craft as a form of healing. The Zoom session will consist of a performance, an interview with the artist, an audience Q&A and, if time allows, an open mic. (7 p.m., FREE)

IT’S A DRAW: Play a virtual game of Pictionary with ThingsToDoDC to become the drawing champion. The game will consist of several rounds on Zoom with six to eight competitors drawing it out. The ultimate champions will face-off in a final drawing competition. Bring your sharpest pencil. (8 p.m., $10)

TIME WARP: Get out of 2020, perm your hair, don a power suit and party with 18th and U Duplex Diner for it’s Sunday Quaran-Tea 80’s edition dance party. The theme is social distancing as you dance with DJ Tanner over Zoom. The event is free but donations to the staff or placing a delivery order is appreciated. We all need a break from this year, right? (4 p.m., FREE)
