READY FOR YOUR CLOSE UP: For those missing big holiday gatherings this year, Home Movie Day from the D.C. Library will provide a fix of virtual family antics. The annual event, celebrating all those amateur videos you’ve got of Thanksgiving at your aunt’s or your sister’s fifth birthday party, will be online this year for all to enjoy. If you’d like to share your own videos, upload your files here. Then register to watch the video compilation virtually and stay for the Q&A to discuss the power of shared digital memories, and why we treasure them. (6 p.m., FREE)

WINE O’CLOCK: Calling all Party Planning Committee members, here’s a different idea for your online holiday gathering: District Winery’s Virtual Wine Events. Check out party ideas like their Winter Wine Games, which includes wine trivia designed to teach and entertain. Your guests will have bottles shipped to them, so all you’ll have to do is sit back and sip. (Ongoing, from $99)
