St. Patrick’s Day, a holiday typically celebrated with packed bars, parades, and corned beef specials around the city, will look a little different this year. But Washingtonians will still have their fair share of food and drink specials to snag, and we’ve taken the liberty of providing you a list.
DUFFY’S IRISH PUB
If the classic Irish experience is what you need after a long winter, look no further than Duffy’s Irish Pub. The H Street establishment will be opening at noon on St. Patrick’s Day with a full menu and full bar, featuring a corned beef and Swiss sandwich and over 20 flavors of wings. Those looking to dine in may want to make a reservation online after 3 p.m., but walk-up tables will be available before then. Place take-out and delivery orders online.

KIRWAN’S ON THE WHARF
Kirwan’s is offering virtual and to-go options for their customers to enjoy the festivities safely this year. On Monday, the restaurant is collaborating with Guinness to offer a virtual, three-course dinner at home for $60 per person. Each course will be paired with a Guinness beer. On Wednesday, Kirwan’s is offering a Guinness and a shot of Irish whiskey for $10 with each takeout meal. Order by calling the restaurant at (202) 554-3818.

THE MIDLANDS BEER GARDEN
A week’s worth of traditional Irish celebrations are in store at this Petworth beer garden. From March 13-20, Midlands will be serving up Shamrock Shots, 50/50 beer bucks of Guinness and Redlands Lager, Irish drop shots, corned beef sandwiches, and Irish nachos. If you’re dining in, expect plenty of giveaways throughout the festivities. Reservations are encouraged through Resy.

WUNDER GARTEN
One of the largest beer gardens in the District is transforming into an Irish wonderland from Friday through Wednesday. There will be an all-day raffle, a double header of Trivia and plenty of green drinks to go around. The mixology team will be serving Leprechaun milkshakes full of candy and shimmer, and a champagne-based cocktail that would make Saint Patrick proud. Tickets are available ahead of time, but walk-ups are still encouraged.

DISTRICT DOUGHNUT
District Doughnut is back with its latest holiday treat–a Bailey’s Irish Cream Doughnut Cake topped with Bailey’s glaze, chocolate ganache drizzle and a whipped vanilla buttercream. The D.C. doughnut establishment is also offering a St. Patrick’s Day Half Dozen with two Pot O’Gold glazed doughnuts, two Bailey’s Irish Cream glazed doughnuts and two Funfetti doughnuts with St. Patrick’s Day sprinkles. Anxo Cidery has made headlines in recent months for their political cocktails, and they’re keeping up the theme-based drinks for St. Patrick’s Day. The bar will offer a new green-colored cocktail called the “Green New Deal” in an effort to raise money for the Sierra Club. The cocktail features ingredients entirely made or sold by women, and includes gin, white vermouth, orgeat, lime juice, aromatic bitters, and pandan. The “Green New Deal” cocktail will launch on Wednesday and be sold through the end of the month. It is available for dine-in or takeout alongside their full menu.

This weekend is the time for all-day Irish drinking at this Dupont beer garden. Sauf Haus is offering up an all-you-can-drink special on Saturday for $49.99, a complimentary round of shots for your table, discounted vodka drinks, and giveaways throughout the day. Hi-Lawn will open at noon on Saturday and Sunday for its inaugural St. Patrick’s Day festival. The culinary team behind The Dubliner, one of the District’s longest standing Irish pubs, will be serving up raw and grilled oysters, shepherd hand pies, fish and chips and other Irish favorites. Several Irish whiskey cocktails will be offered alongside a large line-up of festive beers. The St. Patrick’s Day Rooftop Fest is reservation-only via Resy. The $60 table fee includes admission for up to six guests, branded glassware, Irish swag and a raffle ticket for a chance to win a tour, tasting and tab for four at the Guiness Brewery in Baltimore.

On the hunt for one of the largest Irish whiskey selections in the region? Jack Rose has you covered. From Friday through March 20, the whiskey haven will offer a Lucky Charms Milk Punch, Irish Coffees, Jameson Cold Brew Irish Coffee, and a large selection of whiskeys by the bottle for both dine-in and take-out options. A Guinness beef stew with beef chuck roast, smoked bacon, mirepoix, parsnips, potatoes, Guinness stout, and Worcestershire are accompanying the whiskey-heavy drinks on the menu. The dive bar known for its beer and shot combos is putting an Irish twist on the menu for one night only. The London-inspired pub is turning Irish for the week. The Duke’s locations in Foggy Bottom, Woodley Park and Dupont Circle will be offering a five-course St. Patrick’s Dinner for $35 per person, available for pick-up only. Bangers and mash, shepherd’s pie, corned beef, braised cabbage and colcannon are all on the menu. Jameson-based cocktails can be added for an additional $12, as well as a four-pack of Guinness tallboys for $15.
