THEATER GALA: Get ready for the return of live theater and virtually join Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company for its annual gala. This year’s theme is spring cleaning, and includes a happy hour with Dirty Habit, Teaism, and Flight Wine Bar. BOOK TALK: Tune into this week’s Politics and Prose virtual event as Sen. Elizabeth Warren presents her new book in conversation with Stacey Abrams. Warren’s new book, Persist, is about six different perspectives that have influenced her life, and the book is included in admission. (7 p.m., $28)

ORANGE JUICE: Happy National Orange Juice Day! To celebrate, head over to Florida House, the state’s embassy, on Capitol Hill to snag a free bottle of the state’s liquid gold. The all-outdoor event will give away more than 1,000 bottles at a juice stand by Florida’s Natural. (Florida House)

DANCE IT OUT: Whether you just want to stretch your legs or you have some pirouette prowess, there’s likely a virtual class at The Washington Ballet for you. Tuesday’s class is an advanced beginner ballet session led by longtime professional dancer Damien Johnson. (12 p.m.-1:30 p.m., $13)

WEDNESDAY, MAY 5

DOCTOR TALK: Hear from three Johns Hopkins physicians speak about chronic inflammation, new things to know about your brain and the next chapter in Covid-19 vaccines. The virtual event is meant to empower women to make informed health care decisions. (10 a.m., $20)

BLACK BROADWAY: The annual Funk Parade is going virtual and socially distanced this year, as a series of events celebrating the historic U Street area. On Wednesday, attendees who purchase VIP tickets to the event will get access to a tour of 15 different murals along U St. in a tour led by the Funk Parade’s historian, Bernie Demczuk. Surprise performances featuring soul music will take place at landmarks along the way! Make sure to purchase a VIP ticket for this event. (U Street, 5 p.m., $25)

ARTIST TALK: Discover the link between art and science at this virtual talk with artist Anicka Yi and the Hirshhorn Museum. Yi often collaborates with biologists and chemists to develop projects engaging the senses — especially scent. She often brings her background in microbial research to her work, which she’ll discuss this week. (7 p.m., FREE)

PUNS FOR MOTHERS DAY: Get your best puns ready for this interactive virtual show with Grassroots Comedy DC in honor of Mother’s Day. Comedians and audience members will out-clever each other in several rounds of pun games. A percentage of proceeds will go to Greater D.C. Diaper Fund. (8 p.m., $10 donation minimum)

VIRTUAL HOUSE TOUR: The District has ambitious renewable energy goals to cut carbon emissions and make current and future buildings more efficient. Join the District Architecture Center for a virtual tour highlighting the design and construction features that contribute to net-zero energy operation of a single-family house. (12 p.m., $25)

SPY TOYS: The International Spy Museum will put some of its spy toys on display at this virtual happy hour. Learn about playing cards with terrorist signatures to WWII escape and evasion board games and the wonderful gnomes the museum sends on missions around the world. (5:30 p.m., FREE)
