Local restaurants are gearing up for a busy day of eating, so make those reservations early or order a take-out brunch for Mom this year. Why limit Mother’s Day to only brunch? Feast, the meal delivery kit service from the team at Nina May, will be offering a themed box for Mother’s Day meant to be enjoyed throughout the day. Capitol Hill’s Fight Club is serving a Mother’s Day brunch menu in the style of its predecessor, Beuchert’s Saloon. Join the restaurant at its Pennsylvania Avenue-facing and rear gardens for a three-course menu priced at $40. You’ll find Beuchert’s famous cinnamon rolls, eggs Benedict atop a Dutch baby pancake, shrimp and grits, and chicken and waffles all on the menu. Bottomless mimosas, along with a la carte brunch beverages, are available for $18. This menu also serves as a preview for the new Fight Club/Beuchert’s Saloon mashup brunch menu launching on May 15. IMMIGRANT FOOD
Immigrant Food just launched its brunch menu, and they’re adding a new special for Mother’s Day. The Empowered Croque Madame gives the traditional croque madame a makeover by adding pastrami and mushrooms to the typical swiss cheese, bechamel, and egg sandwich. The dish is served with Belgian fries and aioli and will join the rest of the Immigrant Food brunch menu for the weekend. The restaurant is also teaming up with its NGO partner, Asylum Works, to provide reusable cookie tins of alfajores available for purchase. Proceeds will go towards trauma-informed social services, employment assistance, and community support to help asylum seekers in D.C.

Celebrate maman with a Parisian flower market and French food. This year, the famed brasserie is hosting a flower market pop-up with local shop She Loves Me on Sunday from 12 p.m.-3 p.m. After you’ve gotten Mom a bouquet, the restaurant will be serving brunch featuring French toast topped with chantilly cream, strawberry compote, and fresh mint. The special will make its debut on Sunday, but will remain a staple of the Le Diplomate brunch menu. Le Diplomate’s vintage glace cart will also make its return on Mother’s Day, with every mom receiving a complimentary scoop of glace. Rather brunch at home? A Puerto Rican pastry box might be all you need to make Mom’s day, and La Famosa has it. The all-day Puerto Rican cafe will offer a special pastry box with three quesitos (flakey pastries stuffed with a sweet cheese filling), two pastelillos de guayaba (guava filled flakey pastries) three mantecaditos (Puerto Rican shortbread-style cookies), and two besitos de coco (coconut macaroons). The pastry boxes are $20 and a bag of Ceremony Coffee’s Mass Appeal beans can be added on to each order for an additional $10. All of the menus will feature a range of Italian fare, including fried artichokes, burrata, tortellini in brodo, crab cakes, black garlic marinated lamb loin, and grilled wagyu sirloin.
