FRIDAY JUNE 25

MARKET: On Friday, Market SW officially returns to the scene for its fifth season. Head to 4th and M streets SW (across from the Waterfront Metro Station on the Green Line) for a night market featuring everything from arts and crafts, beauty products, live music, and a beer garden. (4th and M streets SW; 4 p.m.-10 p.m.; FREE)

LES FEMMES: Start your weekend with jazz and art in Brookland. On Friday, artist-owned gallery Bad Candy will be hosting a show by the “ sonic siren trio” Les Femmes, a D.C.-based all-female jazz group are $10. (Bad Candy, 3508 12th Street Northeast, Washington, D.C.; 7:00 – 11:00 p.m.; $10)

FLIGHT NIGHT: Even if you’re not ready to head back to the airport for a trip, D.C. residents can at least enjoy a flight … of wine at Uptown Market. The wine tasting event will be hosting by certified sommelier Andrew Stover, and will feature a flight of summer wines including Villa D Sangiovese and Xirimiri Txakolina. SATURDAY JUNE 26

POP UP: Head to Reverie, the Georgetown restaurant from Chef Johnny Spero, for a pop-up event with Bad Habit ice cream. The new dessert company is originally from New York, and the stop in the District will feature such flavors as olive oil, chocolate and orange, and blood orange creamsicle. (Reverie; Timed pickup available 11 a.m.-4 p.m.; $12 per pint)

ART AT SCALE: This weekend, visit Tysons Corner to experience the unveiling of the Boro’s newest mural (from the artist team Jessie and Katey). The event will feature catered cocktails from local restaurants, interactive art walls, backdrops for your social media game, and coloring activities for kids. (The Boro Park; 12 p.m.- 4 p.m.; FREE)

COMMUNITY PRIDE: On Saturday, Arlington Arts Center is hosting their family-friendly Pride celebration. The event will be held outdoors, and will include “art making activities,” music from DJ Natty Boom, and Drag Queen Story Hour. Participants are also welcome to head indoors to view the regularly programmed exhibitions. (Arlington Arts Center; 12 p.m.-5 p.m.; FREE)

DAY TO NIGHT: This weekend, head to 17th Street for a Pride Block Party. The event starts at noon with a sidewalk celebration — and ends in the evening with a picnic and movie night on Stead field. The celebrations will be hosted by ANC 2B, Capital Pride Alliance, 17th St Merchants, and Historic Dupont Main Streets. (17th Street between R and P NW; 12 p.m.-11 p.m.; FREE

EMBROIDERY: Bring out your creative side this weekend by joining Adorn — the hand embroidery studio — for an Embroidery Happy Hour at Heurich House. Event-goers choose from one of three embroidery designs and learn how to create a product of their own — with an optional wine or beer in hand. The kits are made for beginners, but all levels are welcome. (Heurich House Museum; 1 p.m.-2 p.m.; $60)

SUNDAY JUNE 27

FOLKLIFE:  The Smithsonian Folklife Festival, which traditionally includes a large in-person portion on the National Mall, looks a little different this year to account for the pandemic — but that doesn’t mean it’s slowing down. On Sunday, tune in to the last day of the Festival’s “Beyond the Mall: Making Matter” virtual gathering — to learn about everything from Senegalese metalsmithing to  Korean ginseng chicken soup. (10 a.m.-6 p.m.; FREE)

WALKING TOUR: Before Pride month ends, take a walking tour around D.C. to view the month-long communal art project, “Paint the Town Colorful.” Starting at the beginning of Pride, businesses and residents have been encouraged to decorate their public public-facing spaces (think: windows, balconies, store fronts) with full color. (FREE)

JAZZ: End your weekend with the Potomac River Jazz Club’s Welcome Back Summer Special. The event features Ben Mauger’s Vintage Jazz Band a Pennsylvania-based group that specializes in Roaring 20s and New Orleans-style jazz. (Rosensteel Knights of Columbus of Silver Spring; $0-$20)
