TUESDAY, JULY 6

BINGO NIGHT: Join DC Fray for a free night of bingo every Tuesday at Union Market. Expect 6-8 rounds of bingo outdoors and prizes for the winners. There’s a similar event at Hotel Zena that includes a happy hour menu. (Union Market, 6 p.m., FREE)

OPEN MIC: Looking for a night of laughter? Head to the second floor of Adams Morgan’s own Shenanigans Irish Pub for an open mic comedy show featuring comedians from all over the region. Seating at the Talk To Me Tuesday show from Broken Mic Comedy is limited, so get there early. (Shenanigans Irish Pub, 8 p.m., free entry)

LIVE MUSIC: Enjoy some live music and happy hour deals at Lena’s Beer Garden in Alexandria. Every Tuesday, Live at Lena’s offers up local music with a happy hour until 7 p.m. This week features the ilyAIMY Trio, a percussive acoustic rock group from Baltimore. PIZZA MAKING: Learn how to make wood fired pizza and properly pair wine and beer at this Wild Wood Pizza event with Chef Curtis Allred. This Leesburg, VA, event includes an individual pizza making kit and two drinks of either beer or wine. Guests must be 21+, and there’s even a gluten free option. (Wild Wood Pizza, $25, 6 p.m.)

OUTDOOR CONCERT: Head to The Wharf for their live outdoor concert series every Wednesday, which resumed in June. This week, the Jarreau Williams Experience will grace the Transit Pier stage with their rock and R&B music. (The Wharf, 7 p.m., FREE)

DRINKS ‘N’ CRAFTS: Make a good first impression on your guests with a doormat you hand-painted yourself. FSC Workshop, an arts space in District Heights, Md., is hosting a drunken mat painting workshop, complete with mats, stencils, paint, and other supplies to create your own work of art. THURSDAY, JULY 8

SUMMER MOVIE: The Library of Congress kicks off its fourth annual Summer Movies on the Lawn series on Thursday nights with an ‘80s classic: The Princess Bride. Grab a blanket, drinks, and snacks and head to the north lawn of the Thomas Jefferson Building for the screening. Seating opens up at 6:30 p.m. (Thomas Jefferson Building north lawn, 8 p.m., FREE)

COOKBOOK SWAP: Got a cookbook you’re never going to use? Bring it to the Kennedy St. Anxo Cidery and Tasting Room for a swap event from the new local culture site Recommend If You Like. SPEAKEASY AND MARKET: Head to the SpacyCloud skate shop and restaurant in Adams Morgan for the launch of Casa Kantuta, a Thursday-Sunday pop-up market and speakeasy inspired by the Bolivian capital, La Paz. Sip on specialty cocktails, like the cinnamon bark syrup-based Pachamama, snack on salteñas, a Bolivian street food similar to empanadas, and shop from BIPOC small business owners. DANCE CIRCLE: The REACH at the Kennedy Center continues its weekly festivals by welcoming the Intertribal Native American Dance Circle this weekend. On Thursday, enjoy an arts market, a set from DJ Urie Ridgeway, and a screening of the documentary Rumble: The Indians Who Rocked the World, which explores Indigenous influences on popular music. More events are slated for Friday and Saturday, too. (6 p.m., FREE)
