MONDAY, JULY 12

FREE COFFEE + DONUTS: Stop by downtown brunch spot Urban Roast for a free 12 oz. cold brew coffee and donut any time before 11 a.m. They’re offering up the goodies to welcome workers back to downtown D.C., in line with the mayor’s “Welcome Back DC” initiative that sees other downtown cafes giving out free coffee from 8 a.m. – 11 a.m. every Monday in July.

MOVIE NIGHT: Adams Morgan will screen films that heavily feature D.C. in its outdoor film series at Marie Reed Field. This week, you can see a documentary about punk rock’s explosion in D.C. in the late 1970s, and its transformation of the local music scene. (8 p.m., FREE)

DRAG BINGO: Red Bear Brewing Co. hosts a night they warn is not like your grandmother’s bingo. Local drag queen Desiree Dik will host the event, filled with drag performances, prizes, and delicious beer. (7 p.m., free admission)

OUTDOOR YOGA: Looking to relax? Join outdoor vinyasa yoga at the Wharf’s District Pier for its weekly District Flow Yoga class. Enjoy waterfront views and fresh air as you shed the stress of the day. (6 p.m., $10)

OPEN MIC NIGHT: Laugh all night long at the D.C. Improv Comedy Club’s open mic night, featuring local comedy talent in its main showroom. Admission is free to the public, but you can guarantee a seat for $1.50 service fee. (7:30 p.m.)

GLEN ECHO PARK: Join the park for its next virtual event in the Carousel 100th Anniversary lecture series. This week, hear from the restorer and caretaker of the organ, Durward Center. Center will talk about the history of the organ and its restoration and maintenance during his 50 years at the park. (7:30 p.m., FREE)

THURSDAY, JULY 15

COOKIE JAMBOREE: Enjoy cookie-themed cocktails, Girl Scout cookies, and friendship bracelet making classes while supporting the Scouts at The Yards’ Cookie Jamboree. Each ticket includes a box of cookies, a free drink, and access to activities like a relay race. Proceeds for the event will be donated to Girl Scout Nation’s Capital. (5 p.m., $20)

CONCERT IN THE PARK: Head to Gateway Park for a Broadway concert from the The American Pops Orchestra, starring Mary Michael Patterson of Phantom of the Opera and Vishal Vaidya. The concert will feature new themes, artists, and American popular music, with the Kona Ice food truck parked nearby. (7 p.m., $5)

MEET THE ARTISTS: The Chinese American Museum launches its latest exhibit with a virtual discussion featuring poet Nirmal Ghosh. Hear from the creators on the inspiration and process behind the new exhibit full of visual poetry, named Wild Cranes. (7 p.m., FREE)

FILM FESTIVAL: Tune in for the first night of the 10-day long virtual D.C. Asian Pacific American Film Festival. Attendees need a screening pass to view all the films on the docket on Eventive, or individual film tickets are available. ($7)
