ART TALK: Join The Phillips Collection for a virtual talk with Kristina Penhoet, a local fiber sculpture artist, moderated by Abigail McEwen, an associate professor at UMD. Penhoet, who won second place in a July juried invitational at the Phillips, will discuss her work and artistic process. (6:30 p.m., FREE)

ART BENEFIT: Head to the Reston Art Gallery and Studies, a local landmark, to support a global cause at the Engage Nepal art show. The two-day show starts with a reception, where attendees can purchase paintings. Proceeds will go directly to the Covid Crisis Relief fund to create a pediatric intensive care unit at Engage Nepal’s partner hospital. (5 p.m., free admission)
APOLLO ANNIVERSARY: Apollo 15, along with the first Lunar Rover, launched 50 years ago and the National Archives is celebrating. In this online talk, the organization’s executive director will host a panel with the curator of the Apollo Collection at the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum, the acting NASA chief historian, and the chief of the Moving Image and Sound Branch at the Archives. ITALIAN ART: Marymount University’s Cody Gallery in Arlington is showing a new exhibition named Magnifica, debuting new work by Italian artists Goldschmied and Chiari.
