It’s time to dig out your fanciest gowns and waistcoats, and practice your ballroom etiquette to prepare for an event that is sure to be the talk of the Ton. A Bridgerton-themed pop-up experience is coming to D.C. and three other cities in March 2022, according to an announcement from Shondaland.
“Dear illustrious members of the high societies of Montreal, L.A, Washington DC and Chicago,” the announcement on Instagram reads. “An immersive event featuring music inspired by the soundtrack from the original Bridgerton series is coming to your city.”
While the location has yet to be revealed, the organizers say the series of 90-minute events will take place in a ballroom decorated in the style of the hit Netflix show. Tickets go on sale Sept. 16 at 10 a.m., but a waitlist is currently available online. Tickets start at $49 and grant you access to one of the sessions, which will take place Tuesdays through Sundays.
According to the event’s website, the “Queen’s Ball” will transport guests to the Regency era, where they will mingle with other members of the Ton and enjoy an evening of music and dance, acrobatic performances, and Bridgerton-inspired cocktails. (I can already hear the string quartet playing “thank u, next.”)
Two performers will be the evening’s storytellers, “and some fortunate guests will even be able to participate in the performance itself,” the site reads. There’s no word on whether any of the main actors from the show will make appearances.
While fancy attire is not required for entry, the event organizers encourage guests to “don your best garments and practice your dance moves.” One wouldn’t want to end up in Lady Whistledown’s Society Papers.
After all, Queen Charlotte is looking for the diamond of the season.
