ART EXHIBIT: See the work of artists who are children of Holocaust survivors at the Rouse Company Foundation Gallery at Howard Community College. BIRTHDAY PARTY: La Cosecha taqueria Las Gemelas celebrates its first birthday with ice cream, a Libelula tequila tasting, and a mariachi party. FILM FEST: There’s a new film festival in town, celebrating local filmmakers and short films. PURIM PARTY: Sixth and I reimagines Coachella as Jewchella, a music festival to celebrate Purim. DC Improv will be on hand with improv games, there will be sketches and drinks, and you can sing along with cover songs from Sixth & I musicians. THURSDAY, MARCH 17

FADO FAREWELL: Hi-Lawn at Union Market bids a fond, belated farewell to Fado Irish Pub, the Chinatown bar that closed in 2020. The ticketed party will feature Irish dancers, bagpipers, and live music from the Aine O’Doherty Band, Danny Burns Band, The Breakaways, and more. Enjoy traditional Irish pub fare, like shepherd’s pie and corned beef, and Irish drinks like Guinness, Smithwicks, Jameson, and Baileys. (Hi-Lawn, 2 p.m., $20)

VICTURA PARK: Ring in spring with the Victura Park at The REACH officially reopening for the spring. The wine garden returns with expanded hours and a new indoor cafe serving coffee, pastries, and lunch. On opening day, enjoy a happy hour featuring half-priced beers from Lost Rhino’s Shooter McMunn’s Irish Stout and O’Connor Brewing Co.’s Nitro Dry Irish Stout, plus a special menu of bangers and mash, Irish stout beef stew, and potato and leek soup.
