COOKING CLASS: Learn how to make Brazilian moqueca, or fish stew, with Marianne Tshihamba, a world traveler and food expert. Attendees can learn how to ingredients such as tomatoes, onions, coconut milk, and fish, to make the famously comforting dish in a family-friendly class. (Hill Center; 6 p.m.; $69)

WINE TASTING: Head to Cork Wine Bar and Market for a guided tasting of five French wines and charcuterie also hosted by Noire Valley, a group that organizes wine education experiences for both longtime enthusiasts and wine newcomers. (Cork Wine Bar; 6 p.m.; $60)

DOCUMENTARY SCREENING: GWU’s American Studies and Anthropology departments and the Cisneros Institute present a screening of “La Manplesa: An Uprising Remembered,” documentary follows the 1991 protests of the police shooting of Daniel Gomez in Mount Pleasant. TEXTILE EXHIBIT: Enjoy the Textile Museum’s latest exhibit, “Indian Textiles, 1,000 Years of Art and Design,” featuring an array of folk embroideries, Mughal courtly weavings, hand-painted cloths, knotted-pile carpets and more. The exhibition is organized with the Embassy of India in celebration of India’s 75th anniversary of independence. TEA TALK: Looking for a healing experience? Head to Busboys and Poets for a Tulips and Tea Talk designed to bring local women of color together to share, support, and release. RAVIOLI WORKSHOP: Wow everyone with a delicious spring dinner after learning how to make ravioli at this cooking class hosted by Common Good City Farm in LeDroit Park. LINGERIE AND LAUGHS: Check out a new comedy show and slam in Takoma Park where women tell funny, sexy stories in a safe and intimate setting.
